1.9 million years of evolution
The skin care industry has long had the same approach regarding how to treat the skin with skin care. The traditional philosophy consists of:
Cleanser
Toner
Serum
Eye cream
Moisturizers
Peeling
Mask
Of course, brands differ to some extent with "unique active" ingredients, but the basic idea is the same. Cleanse the skin of sebum (the substances that the body creates and sends out to the skin so that it can be healthy), dead skin cells and microbes, and then try to replace what you just washed off with substances (often synthetic) in e.g. a serum or a moisturizer.
The question you should ask yourself though is… What are the odds that our skin evolved over 1.9 million years of evolution… Built an amazing and completely unique system of endocannabinoid receptors, skin cells, microbes and sebum… Just to we for the past 100 years would wash ourselves and then replace these substances with “active ingredients”. The answer to that question is 0% . We can try in every possible way to beat evolution and it is absolutely possible to create short-term results... But... If you want to achieve optimal skin health in both the short and long term, we have to take care of what the skin has built up for us…
With the new knowledge available today, the "classic skin care routine" is exceptionally outdated. It's time to take a new step in the skin care industry. Only then can we really help people...
